Frequently Asked Questions

When are tryouts?

We are not having tryouts this year.  We will be having open enrollments starting mid-April through the end of summer.

Why are you not having tryouts?

Tryouts are a thing of the past. After four years of researching all-star cheer tryouts the only reasons we could find were just not good enough. Some coaches told us it was to see who make the teams. At Action All-Star we have teams for all ages and levels so we have a team for everyone. Some coaches told us that they really didn’t know why they had tryouts but they continue to hold them because that is how it has always been. Even though we enjoy seeing pictures of the cheerleaders of the past and the enormous poms, we are excited that someone decided to change instead of just saying that is how it has always been. Other coaches were very honest and said it was really just about making money. 100 kids all paying $30 for two hours of gym time is some easy money. We just feel you deserve more. So don’t pay or tryout for a gym where everyone makes a team. Call today and come and try a class for free. We will be having open enrollments starting mid-April through the end of summer

My daughter’s friend is on a cheer team and had to sign a contract for a year commitment?  Is that standard in all-star cheer?

Unfortunately it is, but so are tryouts.  We have always thought it was criminal to trap kids in a program that may not really be for them.  There is no contract to sign and you can remove your child from our program at anytime.

What is the start-up cost for your program?

The first month is $150.  That covers your first month of tuition and your annual family registration.

My daughter wants to cheer but she is going to be gone for the summer.  Is that still possible?

Of course it is.  We know many families leave the desert for the summer.  We encourage our kids to spend quality time with their families.  We are more than willing to prorate the cost of cheer for the summer as long as you tell us in advance so we can keep the classes staffed properly.

When are the competitions?

The competitions start in December and will end in April.

Where are the competitions?

They change every year.  Our closest competitions are in Palm Springs and we always do one in Las Vegas. Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine and Long Beach are also popular cities for competitions.

My daughter wants to cheer for her high school squad.  Is it possible for her to do both?

Yes it is.  We currently have girls who also cheer for Palm Desert High School, La Quinta High School, Xavier College Prep, Palm Springs High School and Desert Hot Springs High School.

PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN.  WE WILL BE ADDING TO THIS LIST AS PEOPLE CONTINUE TO ASK ABOUT THE LARGEST AND BEST CHEER PROGRAM IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY.
